Course Overview

Course Description

Our  MScPH (Global Health) programme covers basic public health core disciplines, focusing on three aspects namely:

  • Health management
    • Monitoring and managing disease prevalence, surveillance, data analysis, risk management and communication.
  • Healthcare delivery improvement
    • Evaluation, planning and service delivery
  • Health protection
    • Responses to infectious diseases and other hazards

Other than that, the programme also covers topics such as healthcare legislation, disaster relief management, community health and the effect of climate change on health and illness.

Specifically designed for healthcare practitioners and those in related fields, our programme is suited for medical doctors, researchers, nurses, health planners, other allied health professionals, safety and health officers, as well as anyone with a strong interest in developing a critical understanding of the key issues within health and medicine, health policy and health planning.

Note: This programme enables graduates to progress into PhD training, however it does not qualify one for registration with the Malaysian National Specialist Register (NSR).

Entry Requirements

Bachelor's Degree Level

Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields with a minimum CGPA 2.50 or equivalent acceptable to the University.

Degree

Bachelor's Degree Level

Bachelor’s degree in the field or related fields or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 and not meeting a CGPA 2.50, (can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment).

English Proficiency Requirement

Certificate

For Malaysian Students: Malaysian University English Test (MUET) with minimum Band 4.

For International Students Only

Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 (written) or 80 (internet); OR International Language Testing System (IELTS) minimum score of 6.0; OR equivalent.

Notes

Candidates without a qualification in the related fields or working experience in the relevant fields must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the University and meet the minimum CGPA based on the published entry requirements.

 

* 3 YEARS Student Pass / Visa processing fee RM 4300.00 (Processing Fee RM 1,500.00+ EMGS Fee RM 2,800.00) NB: Fee is paid to EMGS (non-refundable) via University of Cyberjaya

* Passport-size photo (jpeg file, 217pixel X 280pixel, WHITE background – size 3.5cm X 4.5cm)

* Photocopy of passport (ALL pages including blank pages. Passport copy should be clear and printed on single-sided A4 paper).(Please ensure that your passport has a validity of at least 24 months from intake date)

*Certified true copies of all academic qualifications

* EMGS Health declaration form

 

English Language Certificate – Proficiency in English is a prerequisite for admission. The minimum accepted English language test scores for the Student Pass application are IELTS 6.0, or equivalent. The accepted English language tests are:

  • PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English)
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System)
  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language)
  • CAE (Cambridge English: Advanced)
  • CPE (Cambridge English: Proficiency)
  • MUET (Malaysian University English Test)

* For applicants transferring from other institutions in Malaysia – A copy of Release Letter, including attendance & academic record and visa cancellation letter with an acknowledgement from EMGS/Immigration

* For applicants financed by scholarship/sponsorship/study loan – An original copy of Sponsorship letter

* For applicants graduating from high schools – A photocopy of School Leaving Certificate

* For applicants with names spelt differently in academic transcripts and documents – Statutory Declaration confirming the identity

* For applicants above 23 years old, required by the Malaysian Immigration Dept. -Resume/Character Reference Letter

* For applicants from Sudan – No Objection Certificate (NOC)
