This programme is designed to equip students with a strong dual focus on core Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence. It aligns with industry needs and professional standards, offering a curriculum that incorporates relevant certifications to ensure graduates are career-ready. Emphasis is placed on hands-on learning, teamwork, simulations, and real-world problem solving to build both technical and soft skills essential for success in the AI field.
Delivered by the Department of Computing at UNITEN’s College of Computing and Informatics, the programme covers fundamental areas such as software development, data structures, computer systems, and programming. It is further enriched with specialised modules in AI including machine learning, natural language processing, computer vision, generative AI, and data analytics.
Students will gain both theoretical knowledge and practical skills through project-based learning and lab work. A key emphasis is placed on ethical and responsible AI practices, embedding critical aspects of governance, fairness, and accountability throughout the programme to ensure graduates are able to develop and deploy intelligent systems responsibly.
The programme offers valuable industry exposure through internships and industrial training, supported by strong collaborations with leading technology companies. Students also benefit from UNITEN’s link with Tenaga Nasional Berhad, gaining experience in the application of AI in energy, sustainability, and smart technologies, which are increasingly important fields.
A seamless academic pathway is available for students who wish to pursue further studies through credit transfers into UNITEN’s Master in Artificial Intelligence or Master in Data Science programmes. This provides a smooth and flexible route for postgraduate progression.
Graduates will be well-prepared for high-demand roles such as AI Engineer, AI Consultant, AI Product Manager, AI Software Developer, AI Research Scientist, Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Scientist, Computer Vision Engineer, and Robotics and Automation Specialist. The programme consists of 120 credit hours delivered over nine semesters and can be completed within three years of full-time study.
