Have a passion for teaching primary and secondary school students? UNITAR’s Bachelor of Education (Hons) is aimed at providing future teachers and trainees with the knowledge and experiences, practical skills, accountability, ethical practice and adaptability to the various demands of the education industry.
The programme is designed for students to specialise in Mathematics, Teaching English as Second Language (TESL), Bahasa Melayu, or Special Needs. With our Bachelor of Education (Hons), it will prepare you for the teaching profession and other education-related fields.
Browsing for bachelor of education courses in Malaysia? At UNITAR International University, we offer bachelor’s degrees in education tailored to not only provide the qualification to carry out a formal education but also to build confidence and familiarity in the student before graduation.
We are also offering a Dual-Degree programme in Education (TESL) with UPSI where you can obtain TWO degrees/certifications under ONE programme.
UNITAR’s Bachelor of Education qualification will provide you with immersion in real word projects which will help you gain hands-on exposure. In addition, you will be provided with opportunities to undergo internships and practical experiences with industry players and gain unparalled insights into the focus areas of your choice.
Our Bachelor of Education (Hons) offers four majors – Bahasa Melayu, Teaching English as Second Language (TESL), Mathematics and Special Needs.
In between, there are programme core modules, university core modules and general studies department modules (MPU) to complete together with the course syllabus in your selected major. For example, the “Classroom and Behavioral Management” subject from the programme core module will equip aspiring educators with the relevant skills to create systems that support positive behaviour in a classroom when delivering a lesson.
Apply what you’ve learned into practice during the teaching practicum. This period is specially allocated for candidates to gain exposure in a real teaching environment. Upon completion, you can be assured that this experience will add value to your resume. In fact, UNITAR’s bachelor of education graduates have received employment opportunities for practicum in public, private and international schools in Malaysia namely, Tenby, APS, Fairview and Hibiscus.
Apart from teaching in a school, you can also choose to be a freelance subject teacher or language instructor for private tutoring. If you prefer a non-teaching career path, why not venture into education management which leads to becoming a principal or education registrar? Consider also the career path of an education entrepreneur, where you can be a book writer, operations and management officer at education centres or work in the sales and marketing department of the education institution.
UNITAR is awarded by the QS World University Rankings for 5-Star Rating in Teaching, Employability, Inclusiveness, Online Education and Accounting and Finance. Furthermore, we have also been accredited by the Accreditation Service for International Schools, Colleges and Universities (ASIC) for learning and teaching as well as course delivery, student welfare, management and staff resources, premises health and safety, to name a few.
Having all these qualities, we believe students at UNITAR will get the most out of their higher education experience to get ahead in the education industry.
For individuals who are currently working but do not possess any tertiary qualification to enrol for a bachelor’s programme, fret not! UNITAR is a certified APEL Assessment Centre that allows candidates to apply for bachelor of education courses using their work experience!
