Course Overview

The Bachelor of Finance (Fintech) is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of both finance principles and the rapidly evolving field of Fintech, which is the application of technology to financial services.

This programme covers key areas of knowledge including core finance courses, data analytics, Fintech product development, and regulation & compliance to provide a holistic learning experience between the finance & technology industries.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements

  1. Pass Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) (or any equivalent qualification) with a minimum Grade C+ (GP 2.33) in two (2) subjects; AND pass Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) (or equivalent) with credit in Mathematics and a pass in English; OR
  2. Pass Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with a minimum grade of Jayyid; AND pass SPM (or equivalent) with credit in Mathematics and a pass in English; OR
  3. Pass Matriculation/Foundation qualification (or equivalent) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00; AND pass SPM (or equivalent) with credit in Mathematics and a pass in English; OR
  4. Pass Diploma in Finance, Banking, Insurance or related field (Level 4, MQF) or equivalent with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 out of 4.00; OR
  5. Pass Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) with a minimum CGPA of 2.50, subject to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval, and MUST attend bridging courses; OR
  6. Pass DKM / DLKM / DVM with at least a CGPA of 2.00 AND have at least two (2) years of work experience in the relevant field, subject to approval, and MUST attend bridging courses; OR
  7. Other equivalent qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.
     

Note:

a) The credit requirement for Mathematics and pass in English at SPM level for candidates in categories (1), (2), and (3) may be waived if their qualifications contain Mathematics and English subjects with equivalent/higher achievement.

  1. Admission via APEL A (Bachelor’s, Level 6, MQF)

Applicants must:

  1. a) Be a Malaysian citizen; AND
  2. b) Be more than 21 years of age in the year of application; AND
  3. c) Possess relevant work experience / prior experiential learning; AND
  4. d) Pass the APEL Assessment.

English Requirements (Local students only)

Exempted from University English Courses if:

  1. a) Distinction in SPM / SPMV English; OR
  2. b) MUET Band 4, 5, or 6; OR
  3. c) Pass in English Course at a previous institution.

Required to take English Preparatory 2 if:

  1. a) Credit in SPM / SPMV English; OR
  2. b) MUET Band 1, 2, or 3.

Required to take both English Preparatory 1 and 2 if:

  1. a) No credit in SPM / SPMV English.

English Requirements (International students only)

  1. a) Achieve a minimum score of 6.0 in IELTS OR its equivalent.
