Course Overview

Programme Overview

UNIRAZAK’s Bachelor of Economics (Honours) stands apart as the only undergraduate economics programme in Malaysia offered by a private institution through a School of Government. Designed for future economists, policymakers, and change-makers, this programme equips students with the knowledge, skills, and perspective needed to navigate today’s complex economic and governance challenges.

At UNIRAZAK, economics is not just about theory—it is about impact. Students are trained to think critically, analyse real-world economic issues, and apply practical solutions that support sustainable development and effective policy-making. Two specialised pathways are offered, allowing students to tailor their studies to their career ambitions.

This programme is a forward-looking programme that integrates economics, finance, and governance with emerging disciplines such as financial technology, data science, and digital currency. Students develop strong practical skills in finance and risk management while gaining a deep understanding of financial systems, regulations, and governance structures. Graduates leave with highly sought-after skills that meet the evolving demands of the financial and economic sectors.

For those driven by nation-building and global economic engagement, the programme offers a powerful pathway. This specialisation focuses on the development and management of national economic policies that drive growth and enhance social welfare. Students gain hands-on experience in public policy planning, implementation, and public–private sector collaboration—preparing them to play meaningful roles in government, international organisations, and strategic industries.

With its strong focus on governance, policy, and practical application, the Bachelor of Economics (Honours) at UNIRAZAK opens doors to diverse career opportunities while empowering graduates to make a lasting impact on society.

The availability of specialisations is subject to the offering.
