Course Overview

MAHSA's Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is a 4-year specialized undergraduate programme which comes with a Dual Award (Master's in Engineering) from Anglia Ruskin University, United Kingdom. This programme will prepare students for a wide range of career opportunities in the field of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, one of the major platforms of the world's biggest industries.

Students will learn about electronic components and electrical systems, communications systems and networks, power electronics, physical electronics, electrical science, engineering mathematics, computer and digital logic, circuit theory, circuit analysis and design, integrated circuit design, embedded systems, electric drive and electric power systems, digital electronics, microwave design, and radio frequency.

Upon completion of the programme, students will have empowered themselves with the knowledge to succeed in an engineering career, which include software development, project management, consultancy, and programming, in any industry in the country or internationally.

The Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC), Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the International Engineering Alliance (IEA).

Upon completion of the programme, the students will be able to :
PO 1Engineering Knowledge - Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing and engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop solutions to complex engineering problems;
PO 2Problem Analysis - Identify, formulate, research literature and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering sciences with holistic considerations for sustainable development (WK1 to WK4) (WK1 to WK4)
PO 3Design/Development of Solutions - Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design systems, components or processes to meet identified needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon as well as resource, cultural, societal, and environmental considerations as required (WK5);
PO 4Investigation - Conduct investigation of complex engineering problems using research methods including research-based knowledge, including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of information to provide valid conclusions (WK8);
PO 5Tool Usage - Create, select and apply, and recognize limitation of appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, to complex engineering problems, (WK2 and WK6);
PO 6The Engineer and The World - Analyze and evaluate sustainable development impact to: society, the economy, sustainability, health and safety, legal frameworks and the environment, in solving complex engineering problems (WK1,WK5,WK7);

Entry Requirements

Entry Requirement

STPM - Pass STPM with minimum Grade C (CGPA 2.00) in Mathematics and (1) Science subject

A Level - Pass in Mathematics and 1 Science subject

Foundation - Pass foundation in related field with minimum CGPA 2.00

Matriculation - Pass Matriculation in related field with minimum CGPA 2.00

Diploma - Diploma in Engineering/ Engineering Technology with min CGPA 2.00 or
Vocasional or technical Diploma in the relevant field with min CGPA 2.00

SAM - Pass with 65% at AR subjects taken must include Mathematics & (1) Physical Science subject.

MUFY/CIMP/CPU - Ontario Secondary School Certificate / Canadian Pre - U - with 60% pass in 6 subjects :- Mathematics, 1 Physical Science and 4 other subjects

Others:Other equivalent qualification approved by the Government of Malaysia

TOEFL PBT : 40
MUET : Band 3.5

 

 

STUDENT PASS / VISA REQUIREMENTS (INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS)

All international students who plan to study full-time in Malaysia are required to obtain a Student Pass (Student Visa) before starting their studies.

• You must receive an official Offer Letter from the university before applying for a student pass

• The university will submit your Student Pass application through Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) on your behalf

• A Visa Approval Letter (VAL / eVAL) is required before travelling to Malaysia

• Studying on a tourist or social visit visa is not permitted

• Your passport must be valid for at least 18 months from your intended intake date

• Visa processing time depends on EMGS and Malaysian Immigration approval

• After arriving in Malaysia, all students must complete a medical check-up at an EMGS-registered clinic

• Your Student Pass will be issued only after medical clearance and document verification

• Continuing students must renew their Student Pass before it expires

 

DOCUMENTS REQUIRED FOR STUDENT PASS APPLICATION

The following documents are commonly required for all international students:

• Valid passport (clear scanned copy of all pages, including blank pages)

• Passport-size photograph with a white background

• Official Offer Letter from the university

• Academic certificates and transcripts related to your programme

• English language proficiency certificate (IELTS / TOEFL or equivalent), if required

• Proof of acceptance or tuition fee payment (if requested by the university)

• Student Pass / Visa processing fee as determined by EMGS

• Completed EMGS Health Declaration Form (if applicable)

Please note: All documents not originally in English must be submitted together with certified English translations.

 

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS (IF APPLICABLE)

Some students may be asked to provide extra documents depending on their situation:

• Release Letter and Visa Cancellation Letter (for students transferring from another institution in Malaysia)

• School Leaving Certificate (for foundation or diploma applicants)

• Sponsorship or Scholarship Letter (if your studies are funded)

• Proof of financial support to cover tuition fees and living expenses

• Statutory Declaration (if there are name differences across documents)

• Resume or Character Reference Letter (commonly required for applicants above 23 years old)

• Police Clearance Certificate (if requested by EMGS or embassy authorities)

• Copy of previous Malaysian visa or Resident Pass (if applicable)

 

AFTER ARRIVING IN MALAYSIA

Once you arrive in Malaysia, you will need to:

• Complete a medical examination at an EMGS-approved clinic

• Submit your passport for Student Pass Endorsement

• Receive a temporary Special Pass (if applicable) while your Student Pass is being processed

• Collect your Student Pass and complete university registration

• Student Pass requirements are set by Malaysian Immigration and EMGS and may vary by nationality
• The university’s International Office will guide you through each step of the process
• Students are strongly advised to prepare documents at least 2–3 months before intake
• Requirements may change, so always follow the latest instructions provided by the university
